  La Vienesa is my go-to place in Asunción for pastries and bread. The panes de chocolate are my family's favorite. You cannot beat the pan felipe--small rolls with beautiful soft inside surrounded with a crisp crust--either for quality or for price! They also have a good selection of meals--sandwiches, breakfast, hot food, and desserts. The coffee is on the expensive side, which is typical for Asunción.
